Places of Worship

Places of Worship @ Heritage Link is an important new group under the Heritage Link umbrella. It is an action-oriented national forum designed to strengthen the voice of historic places of worship. It provides a national forum for communication between organisations involved in the future of historic places of worship, which will help them to develop a shared vision on the best way forward for all of them.

It will strengthen the ‘third sector’ voice on historic places of worship, representing the heritage of all faiths and seeking to agree a joint position on important matters of policy when dealing with government and other stakeholders.

This collaboration will increase the capacity of the sector, maximizing the overall funding available while minimizing competition between members and supporting relevant initiatives. It will also strengthen the sector’s relationship with wider debates on heritage, regeneration and funding, and provide advice to Heritage Link and its working groups on matters relating to historic places of worship.

Full membership of Places of Worship @ Heritage Link is open to the member organisations of Heritage Link with an interest in historic places of worship. Active participation through associate membership is open to other national voluntary organisations, including those based in other parts of the United Kingdom, which may not be eligible for, or may not wish to apply for, membership of Heritage Link.
